| MATH OLYMPIAD |
Bayonne School District Holds Seventh Annual Math Olympiad the Seventh Annual Math Olympiad, sponsored by the Bayonne Education Foundation, was held on March 16, 2010, at Dr. Walter F. Robinson School. The Bayonne Education Foundation, a non-profit organization, is committed to providing academic enrichment and enhancing the education of the children throughout the Bayonne public school district.
Bayonne Community Bank generously sponsored the Olympiad. Dr. Patricia L. McGeehan, Superintendent of Schools, states, “I extend our most sincere thanks and gratitude to the Bayonne Education Foundation (BEF), John Rodriguez, Math Olympiad Moderator and BEF President; Phyllis Garelick, former BEF president and officer; and to all BEF officers for their support, Bayonne Community Bank for their sponsorship, and Sylvana Buccianti, BCB representative. I extend my sincere congratulations to all Math Olympiad student participants and student winners.”
Individual Competition: 1st Place: Ludicely Javier, Washington Community School. 2nd Place: Rangoli Mittal, #14. 3rd Place Tie: Nicole Smallze, Elizabeth Sheridan, and James Ryan, #14. Honorable Mention: Tyng Pan, Dr. Walther F. Robinson School; Robert Smarz, Midtown Community School; Kaan Esendemir, Woodrow Wilson School; Tyler Law and Nicholas Kaniewski, #14.
Team Competition: 1st Place Team: #14 - Joyce Elias, Michael Flynn, Rangoli Mittal, Nicole Smallze, Bret Jablonski. 2nd Place Team: Mary J. Donohoe School - Carolina Foksinski, Hector Hernandez, Mark Herrera, Casey Harrigan, Monica Sarmiento. 3rd Place Team Tie: Philip G. | Washington Community School is proud to announce that 8th grade student Ludicely Javier came in 1st place in the Individual Competition for the 2010 Annual Math Olympiad. Ludicely received the highest score in Bayonne Math Olympiad history!!! |

| Congratulations to PS #14's Math Olympiad Team who placed 1st in the district competition. Team members were Joyce Elias, Michael Flynn, Bret Jablonski, Rangoli Mittal and Nicole Smallze. In addition, in the Individual Competition, Rangoli Mittal placed second, Elizabeth Sheridan, Nicole Smallze and James Ryan placed third. Honorable Mentions included Nicholas Kaniewski and Tyler Law.
