All About PARCC

The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers is a consortium made of 19 states, who are working together to develop a common, high quality  Math and English/Language Arts assessment.  PARCC is computer-based and linked to what students need to know for college and careers.  Beginning 2014-2015 school year, PARCC will administer their first computer-based assessments to grade 3-11 students.

PARCC Priorities
  • Determine whether students are college and career ready or on track
  • Connect to the Common Core State Standards
  • Measure the full range of student performance, including that of high- and low-achieving students
  • Provide educators data throughout the year to inform instruction
  • Create innovative 21st century, technology-based assessments
  • Be affordable and sustainable
