Scheduling Information
The scheduling process at Bayonne High School begins with the teacher recommendations for course placement. Parents and students will be able to see course placement in the Parent and Student Portals in Real Time. Students will then meet with their respective counselors and discuss course placement and select electives for the next school year. Parents and students will get an opportunity to review course requests in mid-April. This is an important time since the master schedule is built based on the needs of the students and the faculty limits. NO student has an advantage over another or is at a disadvantage because he or she is scheduled “first” or “last.” Please check the Program of Studies for prerequisites or course requirements.
All Bayonne High School students will be scheduled to meet with their assigned counselors in February of 2023. Parents are welcome to call the Counseling Office for information on the scheduling process, and appointments are welcomed upon request.
INCOMING FRESHMEN:
- Bayonne Elementary School students will be scheduled by their elementary school counselors with input from teachers, students, and child study team (if applicable). Schedule requests will be forwarded to Bayonne High School. Parents with questions should contact their child’s Elementary School Counselor regarding scheduling concerns.
- Parents of Parochial/Private Schools’ students should call the Bayonne High School Counseling Office in the month of March to make an appointment for scheduling. Enrollment packets will be mailed out once an appointment is made. Appointments will be made for the month of April.
