CURRICULUM STANDARDS

Teacher representatives from grades K-12 are members of the curriculum writing team. This ensures that these documents are developmentally appropriate and reflect the expertise of classroom practitioners. The yearly revision of the English Language Arts curriculum and pacing guides ensures alignment with the state standards, current research in literacy, and the district's educational goals. Based on identified needs, which includes instructional strategies, new resources, assessment practices and curriculum implementation, professional opportunities are planned in collaboration with principals and teachers. These include workshops, in service-days, PLCs and ongoing learning opportunities for teachers.
