CURRICULUM STANDARDS

The ESL/Bilingual curriculum standard is designed to ensure that Multilingual Learners develop strong English language proficiency while mastering academic content and building critical 21st-century skills. Through collaboration with classroom teachers, administrators, and district staff, ESL and bilingual educators align instruction and supports to meet both language and academic goals. Instruction emphasizes scaffolding, data-informed planning, and strategic use of students’ native language to enhance comprehension. The curriculum also fosters critical thinking, cross-cultural communication, digital literacy, and adaptability—empowering students to succeed in a diverse, fast-paced global society.
