Federal & State Programs

WELCOME!

A Message To Our Parents & Students...

The ESEA Department is committed to promoting educational equity by overseeing federally and state-funded programs that support the diverse needs of students and educators across the district. Through Titles I, II, III, and IV of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, the department enhances the district's core academic program by providing targeted support to students who need it most, funding professional development for teachers, and ensuring English learners have the resources necessary for language development and academic success. The department also supports well-rounded education initiatives and plays a key role in the implementation of the New Jersey Tiered System of Supports (NJTSS), addressing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs at every level.

Direct services include after-school tutoring funded by Title I to help students meet state standards, as well as parent engagement workshops that empower families to support learning at home. Title III provides language instruction for English learners, while Title IV funds initiatives that promote student well-being and access to enriching programs in STEM and social-emotional learning. With academic interventionists integrated into the NJTSS framework, the ESEA Department ensures that all students benefit from proactive, evidence-based supports tailored to help them succeed.

ESEA/FEDERAL & STATE PROGRAM VISION

Our overarching vision for our district is to create an equitable, high-achieving learning environment where every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential. By focusing on the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication skills, we aim to prepare students for success in college, career, and civic life. In addition, we emphasize digital literacy, adaptability, resilience, and the importance of social-emotional skills such as empathy and self-awareness, ensuring that all students are well-equipped to navigate challenges, embrace change, and contribute meaningfully to society.

Be bold, action has genius. Begin it, begin it now.
