Student Data and Privacy
Bayonne Public Schools is committed to protecting the privacy of its students, faculty, and staff. The district complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). In that effort, instructional and curricular resources are selected and procured with data security as a key criterion, ensuring students an effective yet safe educational experience. The Bayonne School District works to invest in and develop policies and practices that provide our students and staff with powerful, safe educational experiences both online and in our classrooms.
It is our responsibility to ensure the security of each student's education record, and we take that responsibility very seriously. There are also existing federal and state laws in place that protect student information. Our district has comprehensive student data privacy policies and administrative regulations outlining security mechanisms that protect student data.
We are pleased to inform you about a significant step forward in our commitment to data privacy and security for all our students. Bayonne Public Schools has partnered with NJSPA to strengthen K–12 student data privacy. This partnership allows our District to leverage vetted data privacy agreements with all BBOED-approved vendors.
We are committed to maintaining transparency and trust with our community as we continue to enhance the safety and quality of our educational technology resources. You can review a list of our approved applications here.
