The Bayonne High School Music Program offers a diverse and comprehensive range of performance-based and academic music courses for students in grades 9–12. Students can pursue instrumental studies through a structured Band sequence, Honors Band (by audition), and Jazz Concepts, while vocalists may explore Choir I–IV or audition for Honors Choir. The Guitar program includes beginner through advanced levels, with an audition-based Honors Guitar ensemble for exceptional students. Piano courses introduce and expand skills in reading music and performance across multiple styles, while Electronic Music provides a modern approach to music creation and technology. For students interested in deepening their musical knowledge, AP Music Theory offers college-level instruction in theory, ear training, and musicianship. Whether students are just beginning or preparing for professional auditions, the program supports musical growth in an engaging, supportive environment.

For me, singing sad songs often has a way of healing a situation. It gets the hurt out in the open into the light, out of the darkness.

Music Courses
One of my biggest thrills for me still is sitting down with a guitar or a piano and just out of nowhere trying to make a song happen.
