    BEF Lifetime Achievement Award 2016 
    The Bayonne Education Foundation is pleased to announce Richard Baccarella, Principal of Bayonne High School, as the recipient of the 2016 Lifetime Achievement in Education Award. A lifelong resident of Bayonne and graduate of Bayonne High School, Mr. Baccarella has served the students and community of the Bayonne Board of Education for 43 years. Beginning his career as a teacher of Physical Education, Mr. Baccarella taught at Walter F. Robinson, Philip G. Vroom, Roosevelt, Washington Community and Midtown Community schools. Mr. Baccarella was Coordinator of the Pre-Vocational High School program for two years, Assistant Principal of House 3 and House 4 of Bayonne High School for two years each, and Principal of Washington Community School for two years before assuming the role of Principal of Bayonne High School. Mr. Baccarella has led the Bayonne High School faculty and staff, along with over 2,500 students each year, as principal for 15 years.


    John Rodrigues, President of the Bayonne Education Foundation, is pleased the foundation will honor Principal Baccarella, describing him as ”an exceptional leader, demonstrating excellence and inspiring others to perform at their best”. The Bayonne Education Foundation is a charitable non profit organization, dedicated to providing academic enrichment and support to the students of Bayonne.
